In the absence of explicit prohibitions, judges usually have discretion to decide which devices are permitted in their courtrooms. For instance, during a recent Los Angeles trial where Google and Meta were found responsible for social media-related damages, Meta's CEO Mark Zuckerberg and his team entered the courtroom wearing their firm's smart glasses. The presiding judge instructed them to remove the glasses and warned that anyone using them to record proceedings would face contempt charges.

Shockingly, HAL can, through its special vocabulary word "tabulate."
